Hi, I want to use this with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. It states "The Conductonaut must not be used with contact surfaces made of aluminium" Does that mean I should change my order from a Noctua NH-U12A to a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax as the first one's core is aluminium?

Helpful answer

The Noctua NH-U12A is fine. Your contacting surface to the CPU is nickel-plated copper, which doesn't react with the LM.
If your contact surface would be aluminium (like in many cheaper coolers), its gonna react with the LM and will be destroyed in a very short time.

I have it on NH-D15 chromax.black exactly with this Grizzly. No problems with i7-9700k after 22 months. Both NH-U12A and Noctua NH-D15 Chromax are from same materials... Copper (base and heat-pipes), aluminium (cooling fins), soldered joints & nickel plating. Liquid metal is 100% safe with nickel or nickel plated copper... And very efective cooling and much qieuter as aio cooling due to running louder pump
