How can specific layouts for flightsims like P3D, DCS be programmed on the stick? Is there a tool for this similar to the gaming software for Logitech?

There is, yes: Target is its name. However, I have only really needed it for a few games. Most sims recognise and use the warthog out-of-the-box, especially DCS A10. XPlane 11 needed a little help with the assignment, but otherwise it worked without Target. I don't remember MS FlightSim, it was a while ago. You can find scripts and configurations on the net.
