How do I get my somewhat "older" Lenovo ideapad 320 Core i5 / 8th Gen to charge with this docking station? USB-C port is available on the laptop, but does not charge through the docking station.

I checked the user manual of the laptop online. Bad news. Your laptop doesn't seem to support this charging function. This is sometimes the case with older devices. Please see here; https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images... - page 6, item 7 - output only. You have to connect it separately to the power cable. The video output for external monitors and the control of mouse and keyboard via the USB-C port should work. FG Robert
