I checked the user manual of the laptop online. Bad news. Your laptop doesn't seem to support this charging function. This is sometimes the case with older devices. Please see here; https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/B10PmyNGbqS.pdf - page 6, item 7 - output only. You have to connect it separately to the power cable. The video output for external monitors and the control of mouse and keyboard via the USB-C port should work.  FG Robert
