Question about Sony WF-1000XM3
How do they cancel noise? They seem like normal earphones and regardless of which setting I use no changes in my surrounding sound happens... What am I missing? The voice in the left earphone tells me the setting...ambient, noise cancelling etc but makes no difference at all.

For me the difference is big.
After "noise cancelling" message outside noise is noticeably reduced.
Sadly they lose this ability with a time, especially if I walk, so I need to go through all three states again to improve noise cancelling.
I'd say you should try to reset yours using the app, and send them back in case it doesn't help.
