I assume it's no problem to install apps like "Plex" thanks to Android TV? I've only got a Samsung so far, but I don't want one any more because this huge box gets on my nerves...

I just tested it for you. Plex can be installed and runs fine. Apart from that, it's a great TV for the money! See also the reviews on Amazon, for example.
