I bought a Mac Pro 16 and am looking for a suitable mouse. Who can help me? Thanks to the Digitec community, which has already been very helpful.

Helpful answer

Apple Magic Mouse 2 is a safe value... the question is more what you consider "suitable"....

Personally, I find the Apple Magic Mouse 2 very pleasant, but as coolabanana has already written, it also depends a lot on your needs and preferences.

Clear advantages:
- Touch surface allows gesture control. Very pleasant e.g. with a multi-desktop setup (HomeOffice!) with different environments on different desktops (Citrix. Zoom, Mac applications, ...) - a simple swipe with two fingers is enough to switch desktops.
- Scroll forward/backward with one finger swipe - very intuitive!
- Scrolling in all directions with one finger on the surface is *very* intuitive - after that you curse all other mice.
- Ctrl + up/down to zoom - brilliant! (but works with any mouse that has a scroll wheel).
- For more choice / scrolling with gesture control, there are good third-party tools (unfortunately we are not allowed to name names here...)
- Good tracking on all surfaces (except transparent glass, which it doesn't like).

Special features:
- No additional buttons, such as those found on gaming mice. You don't need them for forward/back, but for more advanced functions you have to use gestures (via additional tools, see above).
- Context menu ("right mouse button") takes some getting used to because you have to lift your left finger for it.
- If you leave your fingers on the mouse, you may accidentally scroll. Not bad, but it should still be mentioned.
- Because of the shape and the touch surface, you can't rest your hand on the mouse. This is not an issue for me personally, although I have a mouse in the shop where this is possible - I don't miss it with the Magic Mouse. But if you depend on it, you might have trouble.
