I bought the VP28U 1 month ago. The device works - but the colours are dull: yellow is very bright - in W10 Explorer the folders are hard to see, in Excel the grid lines are almost not visible. So far I have spent a lot of time with settings on the monitor, unfortunately without success. (Connection HDM1, HDM2, Displayort - no difference). Is this a defect?
I suspect it's the panel itself, a TN panel is fast but it's not a guarantee of good colour reproduction. I would do it like this, return the screen, because everything is actually OK with it, but because it has a TN panel in it, that not only has disadvantages with the colour reproduction, but also when you look at the picture from the side, the colours change constantly.
As an alternative, I recommend this model from Philips, also 28 inches, also with 3840 x 2160 pixels. The device is not much more expensive, but has a viewing-angle-stable picture, the colour representation is also better (it can reproduce 1.07 billion colours) and it has an IPS panel, which makes a big difference. Speakers are also built in (the sound comes via HDMI or DisplayPort):
