Question about Gigaset Comfort 500A Duo

I bought this telephone set for use with Netvoip. As the specification says "analogue, Ethernet", I assumed that it would also come with a corresponding cable for connection (RJ45). However, it only comes with a cable for the analogue connection (Swisscom telephone socket). Can I connect this telephone directly to the Ethernet and is it sufficient to buy an RJ11 to RJ45 cable?

No, this telephone is an analogue landline telephone and cannot be connected directly to the Ethernet (RJ45). The term "Ethernet" in the specifications does not refer to a LAN connection of the base station, but the device works via an analogue telephone connection (Swisscom telephone socket). An RJ11 to RJ45 cable is not sufficient as it is not a VoIP or IP telephone that supports Netvoip directly. For Netvoip you need an IP phone such as the Gigaset Comfort IP series or a VoIP adapter. I am not completely sure about all the details as the product information does not explicitly describe an Ethernet connection. Check our Community for more tips.
