I get no signal/picture when I connect the PC (HDMI 1.4) via this cable (HDMI 2.1) to my TV (HDMI 2.1); I thought this was downward compatible? could it be that this is a problem? If I alternatively use an HDMI 2.0 cable, it works without any problems - it can't be the cable; I can connect the TV box with the 2.1 cable...

Hoi. Maybe the 2.1 cable is faulty. I have also had these problems. There is a very good video about it from a dealer about HDMI.... Title: Hausmesse 2018 | What do mushrooms and red wine have to do with the HDMI standard? Very worth seeing. Then nothing is surprising any more.
