Question about Xiaomi Mi Power Bank

I have a question about charging. I have the thing brand new and would like to fully charge it for the first time (status now: 50% charged / 2 of 4 lights are on). Somehow the battery doesn't seem to charge. Anyway, nothing lights up when I plug it in. I have already tried with different cables/power supplies. When I press the button once, the lights flash, but that means "discharging". Am I really too stupid to charge a powerbank?

Update:
After plugging in and unplugging several times and switching between weak/normal discharge, it eventually worked after all.
So if you have the same problem, just try several times.

You can only charge the powerbank at the USB-C input, the cable is included. This is usually where the error lies.
