I have connected my mobile phone to it but the music only plays from my mobile phone and when I turn up the volume the music comes out of the mobile phone and the speakers.

Activate the BLUETOOTH function on the mobile phone and on the system. It takes a moment, then the volume of the speakers can be controlled via the remote control or the volume key of the mobile phone.
The mobile phone should always be near the system.
