Question about AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
I have had the ryzen 7 3700x with the MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi for about a week now. I soon noticed that the CPU was getting much too hot. After a lot of research and tinkering, I came to the conclusion that the CPU stock cooler can't seem to handle the boost clock. Have others also had this experience or is this a production error? If it is indeed normal for these processors to get so hot (I'm talking spikes > 90°C at boost clock) on the ryzen 3000 series, can anyone recommend me a good cooler to have on their ryzen 7 3700x (or stronger)? I would really appreciate any feedback, because I would really like to have the full performance at reasonable temperatures available and not just the 3.6GHz.
Forgotten the foil on the cooler? O.o I've had it for almost a year now and didn't even have such temperatures during a light OC in Cinebench20. As the previous speaker said, there is something wrong with the thermal paste or the air supply. Or the fan control was set to "quiet", which means the fan would only run as fast as necessary to be quiet.
Without overclocking, the stock cooler should be enough.
Does the cooler in the PC get enough fresh air?
Can you tell me more about your PC, like case, etc....
Did you put on any cooling paste at all or did you already try to change it?
In my PC I have a Ryzen 9 3950X with a 360 AIO from Asus ROG. The CPU clocks as high as it needs and can and gets max. 75°C hot under load.
A 240 AIO or a good tower cooler would be enough for you.
