I haven't had a Samsung device yet. What about heat sensitivity in the summer? I have a CAT and I can use it on the beach without it overheating. Thank you very much.

In general, modern fast processors are poison for heat in devices. The manufacturers try to counteract this with more or less helpless solutions, which often does not work well. High resolutions on the screens of devices are also responsible for high heat development, which in extreme cases leads to a reduction in brightness and of course a drastic reduction in processor performance. So apart from a rapidly draining battery, there is nothing to gain from fast processors and a high screen resolution.

So I don't see any advantages in so-called flagship phones, because unfortunately it gets very hot inside. Things that are very thin generally heat up more. The devices protect themselves by throttling the performance and switching off GPS, WLAN or Bluetooth, for example.

I generally recommend smartphones that offer optimal internal cooling, often realised with heat pipes and, simply put, metal plates made of special materials. New processors that are very fast are often also very fast in reducing power, so they are generally not recommended.

There are also good CPUs that do not heat up much and therefore do not need to be throttled as much. So there is little point in buying a phone that comes with 2K or higher resolutions. What is much more important is what a manufacturer builds in for efficient cooling.

Xiaomi, with its Poco and Redmi brands, is one of the manufacturers working on improving this. They don't install the fastest CPU by hook or crook, and screens are optimised and not unnecessarily high-resolution.

Very good models have very effective and generously designed cooling systems. Such an optimised phone would be the Poco F4, for example, which also uses a fast but not the latest CPU that does not have to constantly throttle performance and uses modern internal cooling. The price is also beyond unbelievably expensive. Of course, there are a few compromises to be made with the cameras, but the built-in camera also takes good photos. And if such a phone falls off and the display breaks, you can buy a new one with less investment.

The S23 Ultra has also been optimised in this way to reduce CPU throttling, but the price you pay for the best and fastest equipment is also correspondingly high.
Samsung obviously does not have the heat in the S23 Ultra under control, because even though they use technically upgraded solutions, there are problems with the heat development.

Everyone has to know for themselves whether it's worth it in the end, but definitely not for me. And I don't need to be able to use my smartphone under water. Splash-proof solutions are enough for me.

Have been using the S23 Ultra since Day One and have not noticed any sign of excessive heat, even at peak use.
