Question about WD Black SN770

I need an external boot volume for my MacBook Pro from 2019 (1.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, only 120 GB internal memory). Would the WD Black SN770 or the Samsung 990 Pro be suitable? Advantages/disadvantages? Which enclosure accessories would be recommended? Does anyone have any experience? Thanks for the info!

The WD 2TB is an absolute nobrainer at the current price. Plug'n play. Whether the extra >50€ for a little more performance is absolutely necessary for the Samsung 990 pro remains to be seen.
