I need to get the data of the ASUS F200M (rest in peace!)... the HD is of the model "wd5000lpvx-80v0tt0v". Is a cable like this enough, or is a "box" necessary? If only cable, how does the HD get "power"?

A connected hard disk (preferably an SSD or a 2.5" HDD) is supplied with power via the USB port, as these are relatively energy-saving (smartphones, etc. can also be charged via USB ports of the PC/laptop).
