Question about TechniSat Technician K4 ISIO

I still have the previous Technistar K4 ISIO with its own internal 2TB hard drive and am actually very happy with it until the recorded films suddenly stopped playing - now power off and power on and then it worked again. Now the device gets quite warm but not excessively so. I'm thinking about buying a new one, but unfortunately it's only FullHD. It would be nice if it were also available in 4K with 4 recording options, but what I don't like is that you have to run the films on an external USB HD. One question with the new K4 - what kind of external USB hard drive can you recommend, it has to have a USB A connection and then the question is about speed and SSD or HD? at least 2 GB what do you have in use that works well? Thanks for your feedback. best regards

Hello,

I have connected a WD-Elements 3TB (10 years old) and am satisfied with it.
Picture quality and everything is fine. For this price, the receiver is perfect with the option of recording or watching 3 programmes at the same time.

Recommended from my side.

Hello everyone,
I have been using a 4 TB Western Digital hard drive on both receivers for years, no SSD and have never had a problem with the receiver, changing channels, playback quality, the hard drives, being too warm or anything similar.
SSD is a question of price, 400€ instead of 120€ for 5TB.
Best regards

I have similar problems.... I occasionally get stuck when changing the channel. I would buy a new one or try a different brand. The devices are made like this. The appliance gets too warm for me too.
