Question about Apple Multiport

I use the adapter on my Macbook Air (late 2020, M1). # Question 1: Charging the MB's didn't seem to work with the smaller "default" Air power adapter via USB-C port of this product. Is there anything to consider here? I would try again with a stronger Macbook power supply. # Question 2-1: Can plug the following Ethernet adapter into the multiport - experience on setup, anyone 🤔? LAN Adapter: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/apple-thunderbolt-zu-ethernet-lan-10-cm-data-video-adapter-329022 # Question 2-2 There is a Thunderbolt and a Firewire version of the LAN adapter. Is there anything to consider here? Thanks for your support :)

Helpful answer
General: Always keep the OS up to date.

1)
Should work without problems. You can't really do anything wrong.
The original power supply unit should be used. Check if everything is plugged together correctly.

2.1)
The USB-C on the multiport adapter is only suitable for the power supply. Other functions do not work here.

2.2)
Your Macbook does not have a Firewire connection.
