Question about Sonos Port

I would like to use the Sonos port only as an "Airplay 2 bridge" to my stereo system. Does anyone have any experience? Is it possible if I don't have any other Sonos devices? Is the sound synchronous with other Airplay 2 devices (e.g. HomePods)? Many thanks in advance for answers!

i use the sonos port. the sound is output on the one hand via the speakers of the stereo system and on the other hand via a sonos move. the sound is synchronous.
the sonos or airplay protocols are universal and i therefore assume that it makes no difference whether the speakers (output devices) are from sonos or not.
