I would like to use two 4TB SSDs in a Synology DS224+. Will that work?

Helpful answer
Hello Hugibert

Unfortunately I have no experience with the DS224+, but:

Contrary to all opinions, I have installed 4 pcs in an RS815+, which is in video recording 24/7, i.e. continuous writing and reading.

In use for approx. 1/2 year, no problems so far.
How could there be, WD guarantees this performance!

The Synology is now X times faster!
Video search, rewind etc. is now a fraction of what it was before.

I can only recommend this to everyone.

The only disadvantage: migration...
With most Synolgys, you can't simply swap the HD drives for SSDs and then restore / or reconstruct a backup...
Synology usually wants a new installation for this change.
You have to check the manual or the forum to find out beforehand.

Thank you very much

Kind regards

What adapters are needed to insert this SA500 WD Red into a Nas (e.g. Qnap)? The connections of the previous hard drive are not the same, you still need an enclosure for the SA500, right?
