If you use this keyboard with a Logitech MX mouse, do you need two USB dongles? Maybe that's the same as asking: is the dongle supplied with this keyboard a 'Logitech Unifying Pico receiver'? Thanks...

Nope, the dongles are uniFi, thus you could link both devices to your computer with one dongle
