In the meantime, what is the status of 2019? I would like to get the Sonos One instead of Play1 because they support Ariplay2 and the Play1 does not. I'm not interested in Alexa. Can I buy it without hesitation or will I not be able to use the Sonos One without linking it to a German Alexa Amazon account? Thank you very much for your feedback!

it works as normal without an Amazon/Google account. You have full function without voice control.
In the setting there is an option for "voice control" on or off.

But, Sonos has just announced a "new" version of the One. (available from Sonos March 2019).
Est has the same audio system but a better processor and low-power Bluetooth for easier setup (not for Bluetooth streaming).
At Sonos, it is the same pries. (version 1 and version 2019).
