Is it possible to have a sound connection to earphones (for hearing deficient people) that is separate to the sound in the room (for the rest of the family)? Some TVs make you decide on one option or the other, which doesn't suit me.

It is possible to connect earphones separately while also having sound from the TV speakers for others, as LG TVs from 2021 onwards support simultaneous audio output to both TV speakers and Bluetooth headphones. You can enable this by selecting the option to use multiple speakers, allowing sound to play through the TV speakers and a Bluetooth headset at the same time.

This means hearing-deficient users can use earphones independently without muting the room sound. The TV settings allow switching between audio outputs or using both simultaneously, which suits your need to have separate sound for earphones and room speakers.
