Is it possible to install a glass panel on both sides (right and left), or do I need a mounting kit on the right? Because the sheet metal wall has to be pushed in on the right-hand side.

The glass wall on the right-hand side is useless, because that's where the cables and the 2.5-inch drives are.
The cover is also held in guide slots at the top and bottom of the enclosure and is fixed from behind with 2 screws. With a little modding skill (cutting sheet metal, gluing in plexiglass) this would certainly work.
