Is it possible to separate the sound? Since the headset connects directly to the ps5, can I use the game sound on the TV and the chat on the headset? And if it has its own microphones, do I not need the controller if I just want to chat?

Why do you want the sound via the TV? you don't hear much if you have a headset on your head. it doesn't make any sense. by the way, the 3d sound is the great thing about the headset.
