Is it possible to use a standard fan with the i9 without it being overloaded? What would be a suitable model?

You can... but I wouldn't do it under any circumstances because the CPU gets very hot. I have a 280mm cooling fan and it works great. You can actually use any fan that fits on the LGA 1200 socket.
