The question for me is not so much gold-plated connections or not, but that the cable does what it promises without any problems. Gold-plated connections alone are no guarantee for reliable data transmission! I have been using a Samsung monitor C49RG94SSU, 5120 x 1440 (4K) with 120 Hz for about 3 months now, so far without any problems. Target fully met.
There's nothing more annoying than trying/testing cables for such quite high requirements until you finally find one that works.
