Since there is little point in using this CPU with an X570 board, I have a question as to whether Digitec can update the B450 boards, since I do not have the possibility to do so.
Alternative: why not go for an X470 board? Asus x470 prime pro for example works without update and is not much more expensive than b450 while it offers more features. I think it's just 30 CHF more expensive than e.g. the b450 tomahawk max - so not a bad deal at all...
All MSI B450 boards that end in "MAX" can be used without any problems. All other boards that allow "BIOS Flash" via USB (such as Q-Flash or similar) can also be updated without a CPU.
There is, for example, the MSI B450-A PRO MAX, which supports this CPU out of the box.
The B450s from Asus (Prime etc.) definitely do not start with this CPU. You have to update the BIOS, I used an older Ryzen 2200G for this. It will certainly work with the even cheaper Athlon.
I don't know if Digitec does that.
If not, you can also buy an Athlon200GE. You could update the board with this and then return it. If you are lucky, the board already runs with the Ryzen and you can return the Athlon unopened, then you will be refunded the full purchase price (otherwise: purchase price 10fr.).
