The description says 3.5mm and 6.3mm. Is the adapter included or do I have to buy it? Do I understand correctly that the base is connected to the audio source via cable and then wireless is transmitted?

Correct - when everything is connected, only search for the transmission on the right headphone at the lower rotary wheel - done.
