The front panel connector does not fit the pins on my motherboard (ASUS ROG Strix Z390). Is there an adapter or does only a new motherboard help?

As a little help: the connector must be turned so that the lettering F_Panel is facing upwards. Then in the upper PIN row from the 5th from the right ;-)

The panel header is actually standardised. I briefly looked at the manual for the ROG Strix Z390 and compared it with mine (Asus TUF B550). The panel header has exactly the same 1:1 assignment. This means that the connector must work. Take a close look at the assignment in the manual, compare it with the labelling of the front panel connector and then it will work. Good luck.
