What about the heat development? Does the adapter get very warm, as is the case with conventional adapters? (e.g. if you stay connected to the monitor via HDMI for a long time).

The adapter gets warm, but it is still easy to touch. I use the adapter for a good 5-7 hours with a monitor and external hard drive.
