When I don't plug in the vdg cable the LED's light up but the fans don't turn when I plug in the vdg cable the LED's nor the fans work. What is the reason for this?

The fans are supplied with power via a Molex connection. The LEDs are powered via a SATA connection that supplies a small board with the LED controller. Are you sure you have everything connected?
