When the printer is idle, you hear a high-frequency whistling sound. How can I stop this without switching off the printer completely? Thank you very much.

I don't hear a whistling sound, not even a high-frequency one. Either I don't hear it or you have very sensitive hearing. Sitting too close to the unit is unhealthy anyway; because of ozone formation. I switch the unit on as often as possible.
