Which is correct, battery operation or rechargeable battery operation? The information here at Galaxus varies depending on the colour. Purple and Velocity Green indicate battery, other colours indicate battery.

The Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller - Astral Purple is battery-operated. It requires two AA batteries for operation. Alternatively, you can use a separately available rechargeable battery such as the Xbox Rechargeable Battery Pack.
