Author Information

Jesus de la Villa (1958) is an international grandmaster born in Spain. He is a successful author and a renowned chess coach. He has won the Spanish championship twice.

Blurb

New (4th) edition of a timeless classic. The good news about chess endgames is that there are relatively few endgames that one really needs to memorize. Furthermore, once you know these endgames, the knowledge remains relevant! The bad news is that the endgame technique of most players is still lacking. Modern time controls exacerbate the situation; there simply isn't enough time to dive deeply into the position. Jesus de la Villa debunks the myth that endgame theory is complex and teaches how to steer the game into a position you are familiar with. This book contains only the endgames that occur most frequently.
