Raif Badawi, a Saudi Arabian blogger, shared his thoughts on politics, religion, and freedom on the internet. For this, he was sentenced to 1,000 lashes and ten years in prison. This pamphlet gathers Badawi's central, forbidden texts. They illustrate the tensions between a traditional interpretation of Islam and the claim to a self-determined life in the present. Badawi advocates for liberalism, tolerance, plurality, freedom of expression, and human rights, warning that otherwise the Arab-Islamic world is lost. It includes a current text that Raif Badawi wrote for this book about his life in prison. The publication of this book is a non-profit project in support of the author.
