The specialized book "30 years Chernobyl: A radioecological study" offers a comprehensive analysis of the radioecological situation in the forests of Austria and Bavaria, 30 years after the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl. The author, Veronika Exler, examines the effects of radioactive contamination on the environment and the safety of food found in these areas. By analyzing soil, vegetation, and wild boar samples from heavily contaminated regions, a detailed picture of the current situation is presented. The results indicate that contamination with Cs-137 in wild boars is significant and that the migration of Cs-137 in the soil is low, suggesting long-term contamination. This study is of great importance for assessing the safety of wild food and raising awareness about the ongoing impacts of the Chernobyl disaster.
