However, Peter Klimczak seeks the reason for this in his study in the interplay of zeitgeist and series compatibility of each adaptation. This approach represents a novelty in the research of success and failure factors of adaptations, particularly concerning the combination of both aspects. He exemplifies this situation using the "Planet of the Apes" series, which is particularly suitable for this due to various factors. He thoroughly analyzes and interprets the 1963 novel as well as the 1974 series.
