Product details

The 50th birthday of '68 was celebrated with much incense and canonization. Criticism and self-criticism are still not the order of the day. Yet the '68ers have a thoroughly ambivalent history and impact. On the one hand, they boast grandiloquently, but wrongly, that they started the liberalization of the Federal Republic and the coming to terms with the Nazi past. In fact, they jumped on developments that had been underway for a long time. For all the anti-Americanism they carried before them, they adopted most of their ideologies and actionism from US models, including the reeducation intentions of the Western Allies. On the other hand, the '68ers - and their epigones - successfully marched through the institutions. Not only in the left-wing parties in Germany, but also in large parts of the CDU, in the media, the churches, and especially in schools. Here, in the field of education, they have possibly left behind the greatest damage, namely in the form of a permanent reduction of requirements. But their march through the definitions has also been particularly successful. For example, the dictatorships of political correctness and gender, both of which also originated in the USA, can justifiably be regarded as the grandchild ideologies of the '68ers. The same applies to the multicultural ideology, sympathizing with Islam and national-allergic affects. This questionable record of the '68ers and their enforcers owes much to the failure of the bourgeoisie. To this day, they are incapable of and unwilling to engage in ideology-critical debate - as urgently as this would be required. Josef Kraus fathoms the supranational phenomenon of '68 with the help of many historical examples and supports them with a wide-ranging literature review. As a secondary school teacher, he directly experienced the reeducation through the ideologies of '68. He diagnoses their metastases in the cells of all social institutions.
