Martha's mom had an accident, so dad is flying to her in New York. Martha, Mikkel, and Mats can't stay alone and have to go to grandma's in Sommersby, even though they don't know her at all. There is no phone, Wi-Fi, or television there. But there are chickens, the sea, and plenty of nature. One night, someone breaks into the shed. That causes trouble! It's no wonder the kids want to go home at first.
