With vehemence, the demands for security permeate the meeting spaces of neighborhood and community. In the flow of everyday communication, they perpetuate uncertainty, crisis, and fear; between empowerment and control, fiction and reality, absurdity takes hold. Through ethnographic engagement, the study unfolds how subjective experiences and societal mythologies intertwine in lived everyday life, driving the transformations toward a security society within a tension field of intimate vulnerability and terror.
