In compiling the teaching content, emphasis was placed on addressing the individual stages of wastewater treatment starting from considerations of the water body. After a historical overview of wastewater treatment, the focus shifts to water pollution, which is significant for understanding the efforts involved in wastewater treatment. The various methods of wastewater treatment and the handling of residual materials are discussed in detail. The series of continuing education studies "Water and Environment" covers selected specialized topics from the fields of hydraulics and water engineering, waste management, and urban water management, including the subfields of wastewater and water supply.
