Corporations must prepare financial statements according to various regulations. The legal requirements vary depending on the type of organization. In addition, there are international accounting standards. Sports clubs, particularly football clubs, are required to provide a more detailed overview of their financial situation than is legally mandated, according to association guidelines. Recently, significant changes have occurred in both the national (DFL/Bundesliga) and international (UEFA/Champions and Europa League) contexts. This work addresses these changes and develops the specific requirements of associations based on the general accounting regulations. By fundamentally anchoring the content in general balance sheet law and presenting the development of association statutes, it caters to both interested laypersons and students.
