The Comparability and Improvements Project (1987-1993), the Improvements Project (2002-2003), and amendments to various individual standards were carried out by the IASB with the aim of eliminating a number of existing options within the IAS/IFRS framework. This book examines whether the IASB has achieved this objective and to what extent it is still possible to identify genuine options, de facto options, or significant discretion as parameters for accounting policy actions. Furthermore, it investigates the extent to which the use of factual representation and shaping action parameters may influence the balance sheet and the income statement of the IAS/IFRS individual financial statements.
