Achim Bröger, born on May 16, 1944, in Erlangen, is a German author of children's and young adult books. As a child, he invented stories in bed. After several years of part-time work in a school book publishing house, he decided to focus entirely on writing in 1980. Since then, he has been a full-time author and lives as a freelance writer in Sereetz near Lübeck. He writes children's and young adult books, as well as radio plays, theater pieces, and television scripts. His books have been translated into 27 languages and have received various awards, including the German Youth Literature Prize.
