Achim Knispel (January 13, 1947, in Erfurt; June 3, 1999, in Wuppertal) was a German guitarist of new improvisational music, painter, and draftsman. Knispel was a self-taught guitarist. He performed with various rock groups since the mid-1960s, including Horizon Cee, which he founded with Hans Reichel. He studied fine arts in Wuppertal from 1969 to 1975. In 1971, he received the Märkischer Prize for young visual artists from the Karl-Ernst-Osthaus-Museum in Hagen. His works were exhibited in many shows. Between 1979 and 1981, he was part of a group of artists and musicians who established the producer gallery 360 Grad Spielraum für Ideen on Luisenstrasse in Wuppertal.
