Achim Kürten, born on September 3, 1945, in Varel, Friesland, is an award-winning editor who worked for ZDF. He began his career at ZDF as an editing intern in 1964 and served as the head of current affairs editing from 1969 to 2001. In 1990, he received the German television award Telestar for the editing of the production "Album '89 Bilder eines Jahres." Kürten considers the years 1980 to 2000 to be a very fruitful period during which he edited the images of a year with Karlheinz Rudolph.
