Achim Rohnke, born on December 22, 1956, in Bielefeld, has been the managing director of the film and TV production company Bavaria Film GmbH since July 1, 2008. Rohnke studied business administration at the University of Münster starting in 1977 and graduated in 1982 as a qualified business economist. From 1982 to 1988, he began his professional career as a media manager at the consumer goods manufacturer Procter & Gamble in Schwalbach am Taunus, spending the last year in Toronto, Canada. From 1989 to 1991, he was media director at Jacobs Suchard in Bremen. In October 1991, he joined Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and became the managing director of WDR mediagroup GmbH. From July 1994 to June 2008, he also served as managing director of ARD-Werbung Sales & Services GmbH in Frankfurt am Main.
