The manual describes an empirically validated and clinically proven program for the treatment of anxiety disorders using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The therapeutic approach has proven particularly successful in working with difficult and treatment-resistant patients. After a brief introduction to the ACT approach and its application with patients suffering from anxiety disorders, the eight sessions of the treatment program are structured and practically described. The goal is to support patients in letting go of their struggle with fears and worries and to encourage them to focus instead on what truly matters for a fulfilling life in the long term.
