Adalbert Carl Friedrich Hellwig Conrad Schnizlein (April 15, 1814, in Feuchtwangen; October 24, 1868, in Erlangen) was a German botanist. His official botanical author abbreviation is Schnizl. Schnizlein initially trained as a pharmacist in Ansbach and Nördlingen. After completing his apprenticeship, he began studying pharmacy at the University of Munich and eventually earned his doctorate in 1836 from the University of Erlangen. Nine years later, he completed his habilitation. In 1850, Schnizlein was appointed professor of botany at the University of Erlangen and took over the management of the city's botanical garden.
