Adam Jankowski (born 1948 in Gdansk) is an Austrian painter of Polish descent living in Germany. Adam Jankowski grew up in Polish Gdansk but moved to Warsaw in 1955, before relocating to Vienna with his parents in 1961. After completing his schooling at the Federal Real Gymnasium Vienna IV Waltergasse, he studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Vienna from 1966 to 1968. Since 1967, Jankowski has held Austrian citizenship. He discovered art at an early age and made it a focus of his studies. Consequently, from 1968 to 1970, he studied painting at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts under Franz Elsner, followed by studies at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg with Almir Mavignier and KP Brehmer from 1970 to 1976. Additionally, he studied art history at the University of Hamburg.
